Reuben I. Thaker, M.D., J.D., M.P.H.
Dr. Reuben Thaker is a cosmetic surgeon who offers innovative aesthetic solutions to patients of greater Las Vegas, NV. He does this from his practice Thaker Cosmetic and Wellness, which has a location at our med spa, Phaze Laser Med Spa in Summerlin. Passionate about cosmetic surgery in Las Vegas and overall wellness, Dr. Thaker works to provide each patient with the personalized care they deserve. His goal is to bring out the natural beauty that is within each of us. Dr. Thaker utilizes a multi-modal aesthetic treatment approach, combining many state-of-the-art technologies and advanced techniques to achieve a singular, comprehensive result — overall health and beauty.
Dr Thaker is a sought after expert and educator of other medical doctors and esthetic professionals. When time permits, he is a medical education course director several times a year here in Las Vegas and other cities. Dr. Thaker has taught hundreds of medical professionals. Cosmetic surgery in Las Vegas is a constantly challenging and exciting type of practice. Thus, he particularly enjoys sharing new ideas and methods with other doctors. His recent classes include hair restoration; facial aesthetics, microneedling, chemical peels, laser rejuvenation; both beginner and expert-level injectable concepts using botox, facial fillers, threading and thread lifting; acne treatments; pain management techniques; and regenerative medicine treatments such as PRP-platelet rich plasma.
Dr Thaker has also been featured in the Las Vegas media and beyond regarding both cosmetic hair surgery as well as wellness and general health care topics. When Dr. Thaker is not practicing, he enjoys traveling, writing songs, and playing the guitar.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Dr. Reuben Thaker graduated from Vanderbilt University on Full Tuition Academic Honors Scholarship, earning his bachelor’s degree magna cum laude in just over two years. Dr. Thaker was then offered Academic Scholarships to multiple medical schools, accepting the prestigious Holt Honors Scholarship to the University of Tennessee. Dr. Thaker subsequently completed five years of surgical training (two General Surgery, three Orthopedic Surgery), a Master of Public Health degree, and a prestigious National Institute of Health Fellowship. After multiple scientific grant awards and teaching duties, and numerous publications, he then completed board certification in family medicine (an ABMS Board). Dr. Thaker was board certified in Surgery by the Board of AAOPM (non-ABMS) in 2018 and most importantly has completed one on one preceptorships with many leaders in Cosmetic Surgery and aesthetic medicine. He has the rare distinction of university-level training and certification in hair transplantation, from the prestigious University Hospital of Athens, Greece. In addition to offering cutting edge cosmetic and wellness treatments, Dr. Thaker has taught hundreds of physicians and aesthetic professionals in courses for aesthetic procedures and regenerative medicine.
SKILLS AND SPECIALTIES
Dr. Thaker specializes in multimodal aesthetic treatment. This is a cosmetic surgery approach that focuses on the use of minimally invasive procedures, and astute attention to health and wellness of the patient, to arrive at a singular, beautiful result. In support of this goal, Dr Thaker has trained with some of the world’s foremost cosmetic surgeons in the areas of liposuction, facial surgery, and hair restoration. Dr Thaker has university training certification in hair transplantation from the University Hospital of Athens, Greece. He offers a unique hair transplant technique, that involves implanting each follicle by the doctor’s own hand and without traditional incisions.
Dr Thaker additionally has taught hundreds of doctors and nurses from all over the world as a medical education course director in various areas of aesthetics including: facial aesthetics, botox and fillers, threading/threadlifting, PRP for aesthetics and pain management, hair restoration, acne therapies and other areas. Many of our patients and clients are fellow physicians and surgeons, nurses, and esthetic professionals, which is a great compliment to our staff. Dr Thaker has created original medical research and published in the surgical literature for over two decades, particularly in the areas of wound healing and the immune system properties of the skin. His research papers have been published and presented all over the world, most recently in 2019 in Budapest, Hungary regarding hair transplantation.

MEET RITA
Originally from Budapest, Rita is fluent in Hungarian and Italian and conversant in other European languages. Now a resident of Las Vegas, Rita is a skilled licensed master aesthetician and the lead of our skin care team at Phaze Laser Med Spa. Rita is highly trained and skilled to perform a multitude of laser procedures for the face and body. In addition, Rita specializes in the administration of chemical peels and physician-grade skin care, microneedling, HydraFacial, and dermabrasion. Outside of the practice, Rita enjoys quality time with her family and dog.
MEET SHAWNA
Shawna is a new resident of Las Vegas, having originally resided in Missouri. Experienced in aesthetician services and skin care consultation, Shawna is especially talented at microdermabrasion and serum-infused HydraFacials. Shawna is a valued member of the Phaze Laser Med Spa team who assists in the smooth operation of our facility on a daily basis. When she is not at work, Shawna enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the great outdoors, and supporting the U.S. military.
MEET KYLIE
As a Phaze Laser Med Spa medical assistant and laser technician, Kylie is a valuable member of our team. At the front desk by answering the phones and helping patients to schedule their services (among many other things), Kylie helps to ensure our facility runs smoothly day in and out. Kylie is a graceful host during our regular educational events, which she helps to plan and carry out. A long-time Las Vegas resident, Kylie is multilingual with outstanding customer service skills.
