Is transplanted hair permanent?

Hair surgery with our methods is a profound ”cure” for baldness for many patients. This is because we replace the lost hair by transplanted hair, which resists hair loss. The key is that hair from the back of the head comes from a ‘safe zone’. Hair from the ‘safe zone’ resists fall out, even when transplanted to the front of the scalp. This hair can last many years or even a life time. This technique does not involve a tell tale scar at the back of the head, nor thousands of tiny lines that scar the front of the scalp. Are hair transplants only for male pattern baldness?

How does Dr. Thaker achieve such high growth rates of hair grafts?

Surgical transplant is often combined with regenerative medicine treatment to stimulate hair growth. We take a small sample of the patient’s own blood, and centrifuge it to concentrate the growth factors made by platelets. Then, to maximize yield of the surgery, we inject these growth factors into the scalp usually day of surgery. Thus we maximize yield of the grafts, and also aid in recovery of the hair ‘donor site’. Each individual only has so many donor hairs. So we take each measure to assure graft survival. Also, we use our non-traumatic techniques for minimal handling of the delicate bulb of the follicle. These aspects for graft survival are overlooked by the ‘factory approach’ elsewhere.
